Study of Spatial Imagery Use & Management in Queensland Government (2004) - This project was recently completed by QSIIS through an industry partnership project jointly resourced by the Queensland Governmentand industry partners.
Information Queensland Technical Alignment Review (2004) - This project proposes an interoperability architecture based on distributed, custodial data management and open standards. The report has been published in separate volumes.
The first volume in particular provides valuable and interesting information for spatial professionals about interoperability and open standards, and has generated significant interest both nationally and internationally in the Smart State as a leader in this field.
Information Priorities Report (2002) - As part of the Information Definition project, QSIIC commissioned research into the priority spatial information datasets from industry.
Public Policy (2001) - QSIIC commissioned research into the impact of evolving public policy on the demands and response of spatial information.
Government Spatial Information Activity Pilot Survey 1999-2000 - The Office of Economic & Statistical Research carried out a pilot survey of the use of spatial information across government agencies.
Current Trends in Web Atlases (2001) - On behalf of the QSIIC Capabilities Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Mines prepared a desktop audit of the current availability of web based atlases.
Scoping Study for an Industry Internet Portal (2000) - This report summarises the findings of a scoping study undertaken to identify the level of interest in a Spatial Information Industry internet Portal. The scope of the project included the development of recommended features of such a portal and processes for implementation which would result in long term sustainability.
Survey of QSID (Queensland Spatial Information Directory) Clients (2000) - With a view to improving services, providing better information access and reducing support and maintenance costs, the Queensland Spatial Information Infrastructure Council (QSIIC) considered providing the metadata from the existing Queensland Spatial Information Directory (QSID) CD-ROM product solely on the Internet. To assist in its decision making, a survey of existing QSID clients was undertaken to assess the impact on clients of discontinuing the QSID CD-ROM Product.
Native Title Land Claim Analysis Product - Project Proposal for Product Specification (2000) - The Benefit Study proposed that this product be used to facilitate rapid processing of information relating to Native Title Claims, drawing on information from a range of cross-government systems.
Herbert Resource Informatioin Centre (HRIC) Economic Assessment (1999) - Following a request from the HRIC, QSIIC commissioned a study into the economic feasibility of the Centre.
Integrated Planning and Development Product - Project Proposal for Product Specification (1999) - The Benefit Study proposed that this product be used to facilitate rapid processing of information relating to Integrated Planning and development, drawing on information from a range of cross-government systems.
Community Features Data Model (1998) - Department of Emergency Services has a requirement to record community features to assist with location and this QSIIS project developed a Community Features Data Model to standardise the recording of these features.
Data Exchange Web (1998) - QSIIC commissioned the Department of Envoronment to develop a system and guidelines for interagency data sharing using computer networks.
QUEST (Queensland Electronic Service Trial) - This project evaluated the Electronic Marketplace as an option for the technical framework for the Queensland Spatial Information Infrastructure.
QLIS Test Architecture Project (1997) - The QLIS Test Architecture Project was commissioned to establish a bilateral link between spatial databases controlled by various, unrelated, public authorities in Queensland. Phase 1 of this project required a connection between the Department of Minerals and Energy 'Merlin' environment and the Department of Lands 'BLIN' environment. This document describes aspects of the development and implementation of this initial link, with notes and advice for the establishment of Phase 2.
