Metadata Entry Tool
In response to spatial information industry needs, QSIC in 2003, developed a suite of metadata entry tools. The tools are compliant with ANZLIC Metadata Guidelines version 2 (February 2001), ANZLIC Metadata Guidelines Version 2.
In 2007, ANZLIC released an Australina version (ANZLIC profile version 1) of the international metadata standard ISO 19115. QSIC will provide details of new ISO compliant metadata entry tools when they become available.
In the intermin should you wish to access the QSIC metadata entry tools based on the earlier ANZLIC Standard, these tools are available either online at MET Online or as a stand alone tool (MET OnSite Download or MET OnSite). All tools are available at no charge. Users will however, be required to register their details to ensure that all metadata records captured are assigned unique identification numbers.
MET Online
The MET Online allows users to create metadata records online, across the Internet. The records are stored on a server at the Queensland Spatial Information Office in the Office of Economic and Statistical Research, Queensland Treasury and uploaded to the QSIC Spatial Information Node, which is linked to the Australian Spatial Data Directory (ASDD). Records are secure and may be modified at any time, by nominated authors with authorised access.
MET Online is supported for Netscape Navigator 4.5 and above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and above.

MET OnSite Download
The MET OnSite Download provides users with a metadata entry facility and an accompanying database to create and manage metadata records within their organisation. The MET OnSite Download can stand alone, or be networked to multiple users.
Public records can be periodically exported to the Queensland Spatial Information Office for upload to the QSIC Spatial Information Node, which is linked to the ASDD, or exported to users who have acquired your organisation's data. Data that your organisation has acquired can also be imported if the records are compliant with ANZLIC Metadata Guidelines Version 2 (February 2001).
MET OnSite
The MET OnSite provides users with a metadata entry facility and an accompanying database to create and manage metadata records within their organisation. The MET OnSite can stand alone, or be networked to multiple users.
