Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Working Group
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is widely used in many activities of significance to the whole of Queensland Government and the broader Community.
The QSIC GNSS working group (QGWG) was established to progress issues at the state level, representing Queensland's interests in global navigation satellite systems and to coordinate Queensland input to national and international activities in GNSS. QGWG advises state government, enabling better response to emerging issues requiring coordination across government.
Membership consists of Queensland Government agencies and academia that are currently active in the GNSS.
It is estimated that 80% of government decisions rely on some form of spatial data. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is a key technology for the capture and use of spatial information and is used across a broad range of Queensland State government departments.
