Queensland Foundation Spatial Data Standard 2008 'Revision of the QLIS Standard Foundation Information 1995'
In December 1993 the Queensland Land Information Strategy (QLIS) Standard for Foundation Information was prepared and endorsed by the then Queensland Land Information Council (QLIC) and subsequently published. In 1995, the Foundation Information Standard was refined in terms of the list of data and their associated base level specifications. The revised QLIS Standard Foundation Information 1995 also included broad details of existing and proposed data coverage.
In 2007 the Queensland Spatial Information Council (QSIC) asked that the QLIS Standard be revised to reflect the current needs of the spatial information industry including a review of the relevance and currency of the 1995 foundation information 'spatial features'. The revised QSIC Foundation Spatial Data Standard 2008 focuses on eight key spatial data themes. These themes are administrative, the built environment, the geodetic network, imagery, land management, location address, natural environment and socio-economic.
